Dreamers Never Live (Only Dream of It)

dag2

It's Spring Break and I'm sitting here in Ohio barely keeping my eyes open and I've done nothing of merit since break started. All the young and rich kids I work with jetted to sunny Florida or beaches in other countries. I've never gone somewhere for Spring Break and I'm thinking about how nice it would be to get out of here. See the beach. Dip my toes into the sand and forget that I have a job. Instead I'm working every single day and losing my mind. Oh, how fun it would be to be well off and carefree. But let's be real, the beach and the heat have never been my thing. Forget Florida, I want breezy California, tall buildings, and the busy life.

Oh, a girl can dream, right? 'Cause I've been dreaming all my life.

  1. I hear ya sister. I never got to go out for Spring Break either and always regretted it. Unfortunately it's not always in the cards. I hope it is for you in the very near future! Love your dress!

  2. At least you are making money while others are blowing it, and it has been such nice weather this week! This outfit is very cute. I like it with the jean top tied up :]

  3. forget florida for real! i'm going there in two days, but seriously, florida kind of creeps me out. there are bugs everywhere, the water is awful and breaks me out, and my husband lives there so i'm automatically kind of angry at it. he hates it though.

i never left for spring break either. okay, i left, cincinnati, but to go to akron! hah! or most times i did not get one because my college progam had co-ops so i worked up until school started.

it looks beautiful there - i love love love those shoes and your awesome dress. the denim shirt was a great addition - and the colors really go with your hair color right now. mostly i'm just jealous because i love t strap heels but they don't look that good on me - i love them on you!

  5. I don't think I ever really did the spring break thing with my friends either ... maybe one family vacation to Florida during that time...hehe. Sometimes I think bumming around and just straight up recuperating from the busyness of life and school and so on is the best thing for the soul.

I'm loving that chambray top! It's a sure sign that spring is here. I surely wouldn't mind running into such a lovely thrift find. It looks so pretty over the dress too!

Enjoy your break darling! xx Marisa

  6. I never really traveled anywhere either when I had spring breaks, though I did go to the beach, since I live in Florida. You should totally come down here and have a visit!!!

You look so pretty, as usual. You have some amazing thrift finds, lady!

  9. I have also never been anywhere for spring break! I'm always stuck in my small town, but this spring break my boyfriend and I are going to go to Chicago and hit up the Shed Aquarium. Maybe the Museum of Natural History too. And of course I have to drag him shopping with me!!(=

  10. I've only ever done cabin trips and the like, but Canada is very different I think when it comes to spring breaks haha. They tend to be pretty low key. As for this outfit, I am loving that denim shirt tied up, highlights your tiny waist! So pretty.

  11. I never did much over spring break either. Mostly because of that pesky 'money' thing. But you definitely need to take one full day and do absolutely nothing. Only eat cereal out of the box and baby carrots and then just read a whole book, or watch a full seasons of the IT Crowd in one sitting.
You know something really indulgent ;)
