If there's one thing that can be said about my style, it's probably that I LOVE color. Which is why this outfit was so much fun to wear. All black everything truly makes you feel like a bad ass. Plus someone told me I looked goth, so I think I was successful in pulling off the look.
This shirt is from a show in 2006? Maybe? From one of the most influential bands of my teen years, Brand New. If you've never listened to Brand New, I'm sorry and you should get hip. Okay, I'm kidding, but seriously that band made high school awesome. And sad. And beautiful.
Oh, and these photos were taken right behind my university! They rebuilt this bridge recently and it's just AWESOME. Though incredibly cold and windy. I always have a blast exploring downtown Akron for photos.

I own a lot of bright colors and prints that every now and then I can't believe how simple and chic an all black outfit can feel and look. I just wore black on black to work the other day and wondered why I don't do it more often, plus it's so fun to accessorize! You did a great job balancing the pretty and the edgy.

ReplyDeleteyes, brand new! I was going to finish your title. The devil and god...are raging inside me? But then you mentioned them :) they're one of my faves! I just saw them live this past summer for $5!! It was incredible. And they came with Manchester orchestra! Seriously one of the best concerts ever. The no seatbelt song is probably one of my favorites songs ever!!

I'm right there with you with the colorful outfit love, but I enjoy dressing in black once in a while too. It makes me feel like a bad ass which is the opposite of what I am. I pretend I'm cool and that's good enough for me. You look absolutely cool in this all black outfit. I love how you've styled your band t-shirt and this skirt is so pretty!

ReplyDeleteI love the rocker look on you, especially with the one 'soft' addition of the flower headband. I've been reviving a bit of punk into my outfits lately. I am with you - it feels badass and so much fun to just 'goth up' some days when normally it is all SO BRIGHT! :)

I love Brand New! They are so good; I got into them in middle school when I would drive around to marching band practice with my brother who was in high school at the time. Actually, they are going to be at Penn State in April for free! My school is about 30 minutes away so I'm hoping that my roomie and I go, especially since I have a lot of friends that go to Penn State.
