Talon of the Hawk

This skirt is still a favorite of mine, but it's so unique that I feel like people will notice if I wear it all the time. Which is also sort of convenient for me, if I want to get crazy and fold part of the skirt and take this hi-lo skirt into a mini. I think I was slightly channeling my inner grunge with this outfit and I was totally in love with it.

Did you notice anything different around here?! Yes, yes I changed my design again. That's the problem with having slight design knowledge, you can't help but seek change. You are rarely satisfied. Though, I'm not finished with all of the elements, I am really diggin' this look. It's what I've been after for awhile, but didn't know how to translate. I'm really into the minimalistic looks right now and I think this portrays that. I hope you like it and will like it even more once I finish some elements. And if you were wondering, Joyce of Joyful Outfits designed the "outfits by season" icons. She's a real treat and talented person to work with.

  1. I was in fact wondering about the outfits by season part, it is sooo cute and the best idea ever! I love the header and the overall super clean look w/ the 2 columns. oh and this outfit is fantastic! I'd never have thought to pair baby blue w/ that skirt but it looks amazing w/ the denim jacket.

  2. Well, I liked your old design and header but I love this one too. It is very sleek and a bit- I don't know...all inclusive of your style wether it is a very grunge outfit kind of day or a very feminine dress kind of one. The "outfits by season" is also a super clever navigation idea. I'd never seen it before.

How creative to make this skirt a mini. Never will get tired or how versatile this skirt is, especially considering how unique looking it is too!

  3. I love minimalist themes. Ever since I stumbled upon your site, I noticed your "outfit by season" icons made it very unique. So you should definitely keep them!

That's really cool how you made the skirt into a mini, I'll definitely try to do that sometime! Thanks for the idea!

& As far as continual change, I feel you. I'm trying to stop my continual change, but each time I learn something new, I'm like "I bet that would look good on my blog" and then I go crazy again. Never satisfied is right. There should be an intervention group for people like us.

  6. Like I said before, I'm loving the new design. I'm such a sucker for anything clean and minimalist. I'm actually having Joyce work on a new design for me now! I'm keeping my header, but I'm so ready for everything else to change.

This skirt always looks incredible on you. I envy your ability to look effortlessly cool all the time.

  10. Oh man, I totally understand about constantly wanting to alter your blog design. I never stop tweaking mine and it's such a bad habit...or maybe good depending on how you look at it I guess. :)

In other news, I totally dig that skirt! I've been meaning to get my own galaxy skirt/dress/top but I haven't stumbled across any yet.

  12. I totally know what you mean with the design knowledge! In college I started out as a graphic design major so I got some decent knowledge before I switched, & now I keep wanting to find ways to use it (aka my blog). Love the new look though!!

P.S. My new backyard looks like desert (you'll see it soon on the blog). Until we get some grass in there I'll probably use the park across the street lol.

  22. I wish I knew how to do this! I really don't like my blog design, but I dont know how to design another, and the hundreds a pro costs are not so easy to come by. :(
I think I should start doing more reading on this kind of design work because I would love to get a sleek design like yours. Any tips on where to start?

Also - I have a galaxy print dress and I wear it to death. I love yours (and all the Flock Together styling). I don't think you can have too many galaxy print things!
