A Fever

In case you were wondering, yes I do own these shoes in three colors. I bought one pair at Urban on super sale and was quickly smitten. The lovely Rachel was at our local discount store and saw these and the orange pair in my size. Being the gem that she is, she bought them for me. That was last year and these shoes and I are still having a love affair. Now if only they were more broken in...

I don't typically remix pieces so quickly, but I'm obsessed with this galaxy dress and really have worn it a million times. So, I decided to try and mix it up. I am always inspired by Elana and her ability to wear dresses as tops. So, bam, top. Also I have this skirt in pink. I have a thing for buying the same item in a million colors. I'm not sure why I bought a white skirt because I am the messiest girl. I think all of my clothes have coffee and pizza stains on them. Somehow I made it through a day with no stains. I'm so proud of myself.

For the Fourth of July, I am celebrating the holiday by seeing The Evens in downtown Akron. If you are unaware of the Evens, that's your mistake. But the singer, Ian Mackaye is kind of a punk legend. He's also the front man of Minor Threat & Fugazi and he started straight edge. Like I said, a legend. Should be a bit more fun than a cook out, right?!

Outfit Details:
Dress: ModCloth (worn as a top)

  1. I am glad you are remixing this dress so frequently as of late--it is a great dress and I love it with the tulle skirt!

  2. I am super messy too, white is a tough colour to keep clean. I love this skirt though, perfect with the galaxy dress as a top!! I would wear that dress every single day!

  3. you look magical in that last pic. I love the galaxy dress so of course I love you remixing it as a top w/ this gorgeous flowy skirt. I love Elana's creative remixes as well. & I hear ya on the mess... my coworkers are constantly making fun of me (in a fun way of course) for having coffee over everything.

  6. You've given me inspiration to wear my skirts more often, mine have just been hanging in my closet. This outfit is simply perfect and totally you. I think you should remix this dress as much as possible!

  7. This dress looks so cute as a top! I'm so flattered that I helped inspire you :) This dress is seriously the best, such a perfect Jessica piece. I wish it wasn't so tiny (there's no way I could ever fit into an xs) or I'd borrow it in a heartbeat. And this skirt is gorgeous!

Your 4th sounds way better than a cookout. Not that I know anything about punk music, but it sounds way cooler.

  8. This look is so pretty. Love the skirt.

  10. You're getting a lot of wear out of that dress! I love it as a top like you have it here. Really shows off that great skirt.

  12. I love those shoes so much, it's great that you have them in multiple colors! This outfit is full of such beautiful colors- that light blue is so very beautiful on you. Also, I swoon over those sunnies each time you wear them-they are perfect!

  15. Awesome outfit! So pretty:)

  16. This dress looks great as a top! I love the fluffy skirt paired with it. Also, you're definitely a-okay buying those shoes in 3 colors because they're so classic! They go with basically everything. I really love the orange pair you have.

  17. i've never heard of the evans before because i don't really follow what ian mackaye is up to these days but that's REALLY COOL because i'm straight edge and have been for the last 10 years! i'd love to be able to meet him one day cause even though he's not straight edge anymore he's had a pretty big impact on the course of my life and the lives of thousands of other people and i really respect him. hope you had an awesome night!
