Bastion beasts heed my call

I started to write this an hour ago, but we had a HUGE, crazy storm that turned into a tornado warning. From the social media, I am told my neighborhood and surrounding areas are quite flooded and cars are floating. Saw some pretty crazy photos. Thanks, internet! The storm was probably the loudest I have ever heard and that's pretty much been the standard for Ohio the past month, non-stop gloom and intense rain.

Anyways, this dress is a handmade beauty I received awhile ago from Penny Pardy. This time around I decided to add a petticoat I found in my sisters closet. I love the added volume and vintage vibe. This dress is the perfect colors and shape. It's basically a summer dream.

Outfit Details:
Dress: C/O Penny Pardy
Shoes: Thrfited (borrowed from my sister)
Belt: Cirra (Fort Collins, CO)
Hat: Francesca's

  2. Oh, so you were also hit by the intense storm that dropped 3 inches of rain in an hour? It was in Indy around noon. I'm glad you're okay!

  6. Wow, I'm glad you're okay! I'm super scared of thunder and lightning (we get it like once a year) so I can't even imagine how scary that was. So these photos make me want to A) Wear my Penny Pardy dress right now B) Wear my big ass petticoat from my wedding under it C) Raid your sister's closet. I would steal those shoes pronto!

  7. Beautiful dress! The colors are so amazing! We actually had a tornado touch down here about a week ago. Not in my town, but in the state. This weather is pretty crazy! We keep getting week-long thunderstorm warnings with nonstop humidity and grossness. I just want it to end! Ugh...

  8. This dress reminds me of the movie "The Help" and you look so pretty in it :) Good luck with the stormy weather - we have been having sprinkles of rain here in LA today but nothing alarming.

  9. Wow, I love those shoes Jessica! How awesome to have your sister close at hand to borrow from. I like to wear my sister's shoes when I'm visiting her too. Glad you are ok after the storm, though it sounds like it was pretty bad for your friends. I love storms and storm watching, but at the same time wouldn't wish the destruction on anyone.

  10. Petticoats are the best. Subtle but style changing, right? Also- those shoes are fantastic.

I hope you are safe and that the damage is not as bad as Social Media was saying!

  14. Sorry about that tornado warning, scary! We actually have had a lot of serious thunderstorms out here in Delaware too the past few weeks and had a few tornado warnings of our own. I know in the mid-west they can be especially scary though, glad all is well! With that said- I have to say that this dress is absolutely stunning, and the colors and pattern just draw your eye in right away! That lady has some serious talent and she will certainly be on my radar now, haha! :D

  16. Glad you're alright! The storm was pretty crazy over here too. (We're not too far from the Ohio border.) But on the plus side, you look awesome! I love that you added the petticoat because it does give a great volume to the dress.

  18. Such a gorgeous dress, and I love that you added the petticoat. I also adore how you added the black belt and hat for a darker touch. You look like you're coming straight out of an old movie!
