The Location Remix

one | two | three | four

One of the most important and fun aspects of this blog is the location adventuring. While you might not think twice about the backdrops, I certainly do. On occasion, I've ditched sets of photos simply because the background wasn't good enough. I have a list on my phone of places to try and a list of my favorite spots. And well, this abandoned barn is absolutely one of my standby spots.

This barn is right around the corner from my house and it so awesome. Inside & out. I need to do more sets inside because the inside is so perfectly weird too. It's also fun to see how the setting looks different with the seasons.

  2. I love your blog so much and this is why you're pictures are so delectable! The barn is WAY cool. Just recently I've been able to go some new places and take pictures and the pictures are definitely way more interesting. I wish I would've started sooner!

  3. I so appreciate that you put in the extra time to find great locations. I know I'm not strictly a fashion blogger, but if I was, I would want to do the same. It gets boring looking at the same door behind every outfit and make them all look the same after awhile. You always find the perfect places to really showcase your outfits. Kudos!

  4. That barn is amazing!! We obviously have barns here, but certainly none that I could just walk too so I'm a bit obsessed with them. I certainly always notice your pretty backgrounds so I enjoyed this roundup of diff parts of it. I'd love to see more of the inside for sure. that last picture also is amazing, what great pictures you take!

  5. I've done the same (called off the shoot or not use the photos from a shoot due to background). Love this place and the way it works for so many outfits. What a great idea for a remix.

  6. Hi cutie, I am so happy that I discovered your blog and cannot wait to follow along! I agree, location is definitely an important aspect of taking outfit photos. Natural lighting is also very important to me! It's so awesome that you've discovered this wonderful barn and have a list of your other favorite spots. I may try making a list of my favorite locations, too!

  12. this location is stunning you are lucky to live in such a pretty place. My photos are always outside my house as I don't have time to find somewhere pretty and no one to take my photos except my trusty tripod!

  14. It looks like such a fun place to explore. Did you go there when you were a kid and make dens? I love the spotty dress in the long grass, it's such a romantic shoot. I generally go to the local park, or take photos going out somewhere, but I live fairly city-side which means places like that barn dont exist for me.

  15. Your backdrops and adventuring is a huge reason your pictures and blog in general are SO LEGIT! I wish I had your motivation. I've fallen into the 'good enough' routine, haha. But it's fine for now. It also helps that Victor is an amazing photographer! This barn is so amazing.. it's making Northeast Ohio look cool.

  16. I definitely love how you change up your locations. Like Rachel says, I totally lack motivation too. Plus, my husband doesn't really want to spend our weekends looking for great locations (he doesn't even take my photos). Soooo basically I just live through your pictures and I think you're very lucky to have someone like Victor, for many reasons :).

  17. Your blog probably has the best outfit backgrounds...I like that you put thought into it. Also, abandoned barns and corn fields are really hard to come by in LA lol!

  18. That barn is so perfect! I agree with the above comment ^. It's always been very clear that you pay a lot of attention to where you take your outfit photos, you know how to show off an outfit and set a scene with a beautiful backdrop

  19. Your backgrounds are amazing - they really give the midwest vibe! I need to scope out some new backgrounds...! And taking photos in summer is a million times more pleasant than freezing outside in the winter! :D
