Coma Girl

This time last week, Victor and I were heading out to New York for a few days. The purpose? Tattoos of course. He started a chest piece last summer in Colorado and the artist was going to be in New York. So to New York we went. We stayed in Bed-Stuy and had the pleasure of being down the street from the restaurant Do or Dine. Also known as some of the best food I have ever eaten. We used AirBNB to rent a cheap apartment and immerse ourselves in the city. It was awesome and I'll never stay in a hotel again. Oh, and I got a thigh tattoo. It's still healing and I totally want to rip my thigh off. It's beautiful and I'm happy to walk around with a little piece of Colorado.

This sweater and skirt were both thrifted. I am wildly in love with this top, it's so soft and versatile. I might've worn it nonstop when I got it a few weeks ago. When I bought this skirt last year and chopped it into a mini, I never would have thought that it would be in constant rotation. As for the book bag, this is my bag for school, but we were leaving Brooklyn at noon and knew we wouldn't be back until late night and I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. Like a jacket, water, books, you know, travelin' stuff. Luckily for me, everyone in NY is rockin' a huge bag. This is also a direct representation of what I look like on campus.

While in the city, I was able to meet up with Jen. And yes, she's as cute and hilarious in person as she appears on her blog. Yet somehow we forgot to get a photo? Bummer.

  1. I love the fact that I saw this outfit in person. Does that sound creepy? But seriously, you were awesome. Come back soon for longer?

Hope the tattoo has healed by now (same for your boyfriend) - the design was sick.

  2. Oh my gosh, your neck tattoo is gorgeous. It looks quite similar to the one I'm considering getting, except mine is the planets orbiting around the sun.
I hope your thigh heals fast!

Those booties are beyond gorgeous, they're beyond articulative words.

  6. Oh, sounds like so much. And yes, renting an apartment for a stay somewhere is so much fun! Sad you two didn't get a picture but happy that means you were having too much fun to stop for one :)

  7. Awesome outfit. I like how it's very feminine but you threw in some edge with the boots. And how fun to go to New York for the weekend. I thought they banned airbnb there? Either way, it's cool you got to stay in one. I love staying in them too.

  14. That skirt is just adorable! I love the pattern. I really need to check out the AirBnB site - that sounds awesome.

Also, you should do a post on some tattoo advice - I'm thinking about getting one soon.

  17. I have a really similar skirt to yours but mine doesn't get nearly as much wear. I like yours better anyway! The colors are so pretty and it looks really cute with your cozy sweater. I am absolutely loving the way that skirt looks with those badass boots too.
