Blood on the ground

There are several reasons why I totally love being short. One of them is that I can totally rock shirts as dresses and that even in six inch heels, I'm still barely 5'4. This gives me a lot of options. So, when I spotted this shirt/dress at Gabriel Brother's, I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it. I mean, after all, it was $5. My sister convinced me that I needed it and when I cashed out, it rang up to be less than $3. Total win. I really love it and I am already dreaming about ways to wear it in the summertime because it's definitely a summer piece. This sweater was also a recent score from Marshall's and I've been wearing it basically everyday since. It's perfect for fall, perfect for my short dresses, perfect for my shortness. Oh, and it's warm.

And yes friends, I'll be sharing pieces of my apartment once they come together. Right now we are all moved in and just working on decorating, collecting thrfited gems, hand-me-downs and making them our own. We'll get there eventually.

  3. Oh, I'd never thought of that as an advantage of a shorter person but never would have guessed that dress would be a shirt on other people. Interesting.

  8. I love when you wear your hair like this! What a good perspective on being short. Everyone (especially my oldest son who is the same height as me) always tells me I'm short, but I'm 5'4"--doesn't seem so short to me!

  9. Love the bright tights with this dress and what a pretty backdrop. Being on the shorter side definitely helps with dress shopping- at 5'4" I'm able to find more cute dresses than my my tall friends :)

  12. Before I moved, we had a Gabe's within 5 minutes of us. Now I don't know if there's one closer or not, but I need to make a visit back there! It's so underrated.

  22. other than you basically summing up the reasons why I sometimes wish I were shorter (and actually was told my dress was too short at work the other day... which was tot. not intentional... blah), I love this post!! this is absolutely a perfect "take a summer dress into fall" look. so cozy and cute. and $3 is amazing for the dress/top!
