Art is hard

The last couple of days have been rough, I've been incredibly sick. Like fever, chills, death cough, puking, can't eat, terrible headache, barely moving sick. I haven't eaten or had coffee in two days. My fever is finally gone and I have an appetite again. I mean, two days with no coffee? I feel like my world might end. When it comes to being sick, I'm the biggest baby. On the upside of things, I finished the first two seasons of Homeland before they expired yesterday on Showtime. So, I call that a win.

My sister bought me this dress because she wanted to borrow a dress of mine. I feel like that's a win for me. It's pretty comfortable and classy. It was about fifteen degrees when we took these photos and about ten minutes before I felt super sick. So, I blame these.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Target
Tights: Express
Belt: C/O Versona
Boots: old Christmas gift
Cardigan: Gap (men's)

  1. Omg I'm sorry you've been so sick! That sounds awful. My stomach hurts about a quarter of the time these days, and I always complain about doing my fair share of puking. If I had been that bad, you know I'd be pissed!
You look cute in these winter wonderland photos, though!

  4. I love your lipstick!!! Of course I'm digging the beehive and the headband too. Your sister has some wonderful styling skills because I'm in awe that she found that dress at Target. I hope you're feeling better, being sick is the WORST.

  6. Awww, sorry you're sick! On the bright side, your sister picked out a great dress, and it looks good on you! I like it a lot with fuchsia tights and your blondeness. Re: the title of this post--art IS hard! One of the many deeply annoying things that Amanda Palmer has done is claim otherwise. I dunno if you were referencing that, but I couldn't help thinking of it.

  11. No coffee in two days, you must be really sick! On the plus side, I adore that little mustache you have pinned (?) to your cardigan. It looks adorably delicate and very classic. Well, as classic as a mustache can get.

  18. Ugh, that sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon! I just got a stomach bug yesterday, and I felt like death too, so I feel you. Hopefully it doesn't last for long.

Your sister is awesome, and so is this dress. Is this the same sister who bought you the striped one? Because you should tell her to buy me dresses to because she has great taste. The print on this one is the coolest.

  19. Oh nyoooooo. I hope you're feeling better. I can't stand being that sick where you can't even really do anything except sleep. And two days without coffee sounds awful!

But anyway, this dress is super cool! I really like the unique abstract print on it. It looks amazing with those incredibly bright pink tights!

  20. Eeks...glad you are feeling a tad better Jessica! That's just a total bummer...the photos are super gorgeous though! I always love how you wear black and white with a strong pop of color. And heck, that is one beaut of a dress!

  21. Oh that sounds like the worst kind of sick! And I complain when my nose runs... oops! I truly hope you're feeling better. Ain't nobody got time to be sick at the holidays.

Props to your sister for her clever plan to buy you a dress that she can wear. It's absolutely beautiful & looks divine with those bright tights!

My sister tends to buy board games for me just so she can play them. (she claims to "hate" board games, so I think by buying them for me, it's an excuse for her to play them because she secretly likes them. haha)

  22. Jessica, You poor dear. You do look gorgeous, the outfit and the snow, but no more outdoor posts unless you are toasty warm! The pink tights are brilliant against the bright white snow.
