Baby, Baby

We sadly got our first "big" snow storm. It involved me staying indoors for a day and a half and taking photos from my windows. I missed a class and got the courage to attend the other two. Luckily, by then the roads were clear. I do not exist in the snow. Anyways, the best part about these photos is that it was 32 degrees and sunny! I was actually not half as cold as I have been. It felt like a dream. That's sad, right?

This dress is a Flock Together gem borrowed from my girl, Elana. I loved the color and the fit. I'm not crazy about sleeves, but it's always nice to try it out. This dress also has a bow in the front, but it felt like a noose. I am a master at disguising the details of an outfit.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Elana via Flock Together
Shoes: Steve Madden (swapped)
Belt: C/O Versona
Headband: Forever 21
Tights: Gift

  3. For some reason I've always really liked snowstorms-- there's something relaxing about just cuddling up in your bed and watching all the madness unfold outside while sipping cocoa and watching movies :)

  4. Ah you look so cute, love the shoes and dress. I think I would rather deal with snow with blue skies and sunshine then 5-6 months of darkness and never ending rain. I lived in Seattle for 12 years and by the end I couldn't stand it. It was awful. Nice summers though.

  6. oh lordy, 30 degrees and you're not even wearing 50 sweaters and those sleeves appear sheer to me. this is totally incomprehensible to me but then again I got so used to it being 90 in our house that everything feels chilly. oh and the snow sure is beautiful. do a lot of students miss classes in the snow storms? I guess if you have a lot you can't have snow days all the time like the movies. anyway, i love this color combo, the pink w/ the navy polka dots is great.

  10. Jessica,
May i call you that? Or would Jessica suffice? I also hail form OHIO, from dayton once upon a time and now live predictably in Manhattan. I love your blog, truly, your writing had my at my name is... I also really like your dress, and I believe the warmth of your personality kept you toasty on that snowy ( eeek) day! I am going to following , because I will never want to miss a post from a fellow buckeye that can turn a phrase and choose such a cool dress!

  13. This dress is so cute on you, and I'm totally digging those wedge boots! Your little bouffant 'do is adorable, too!! Ugh, snow really does put a damper on the whole outdoor blogging thing... we don't have any walkways where I can take photos and won't look like a complete loon.

  17. I'm glad you tried out this dress and styled it up even though there were parts of it you didn't like. The final outcome is awesome and I love the tights you chose to pair with it! So unexpected.

I hear ya about the snow! I've only had my license for a couple years but have yet to try driving in the snow. I'm too chicken. haha
And I totally know what you're talking about when you say you aren't so cold in the snow. One winter I took photos in the sun when it was 0 degrees outside and I felt just fine in short sleeve. I think I found some magic spot of warm sun and standing near a building that blocked wind. It was an oddly wonderful feeling!

  19. I didn't even realize it was the same dress! It looks so pretty on the both of you though. You always have a knack for making outfits look so dreamy/whimsical! Stay warm Jessica. I hate the snow too - so it's pouting indoors for me as well!

  21. cute dress, and i love the beehive too! they're such an easy way of dressing up a whole outfit and they really take a lot less time and effort than people seem to think. also i can't stand winter and cold weather either, i have no idea how you deal with the snow!

  22. Ooo I like how you disguised the bow on this dress. I have a dress just like this in green with the bow and everything. I really like the bow but it's nice to know this is an option too! I also really love the color combination in this outfit. Your hair looks so cute like this too!
