OOTD; I remember you

IMG_8245

I went to Columbus to sell a concert ticket because really, any excuse to spend the day in another place is pretty okay by me. We met at my favorite coffee shop in Columbus, One Line. The coffee is so ridiculously wonderful that I really wish I had bought more than a pound. I am now rationing it off until I can think of a reason to go back to Columbus. After selling the ticket and consuming lots of coffee, we headed to Katalina's Cafe Corner. Which is one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots. Columbus is such a lovely city because unlike Akron the city thrives on locally made/grown/crafted everything. The streets aren't littered with corporations and it all seems so much bigger than Ohio. I do what I can to support local and independent businesses and that's almost mandatory in areas like the Short North.

Let's talk about this necklace. I won it from My Paper Plane via Elana's blog. So, this necklace, it's a whistle. It looks so wonderful on and it's loud. It can serve as an accessory, an annoying toy, or a safety device. I like multipurpose accessories.

  1. Okay, so this dress is perfectly accessorized, nothing too much but just enough to shine. the mint and the gold really draw in the eye among all the stripes.

  4. That dress is rad and I love how it highlights your shoulder & back tattoos! I also won a similar sort of whistle necklace years ago and it comes in handy if I'm taking pictures in a sketchy area and I need help. Well, I haven't actually had to use it yet but I imagine it would work superbly if something happened. haha

  6. Hooray for multipurpose accessories! I love that it's actually a functional whistle. Also this dress is so perfect on you. The stripes are fantastic and I love that the V in the back shows off your tattoo. Very cute, as usual!

  7. Girl, I am ALWAYS down for a road trip. I haven't spent much time in Columbus, but am always happy to explore new places (not to mention the 2nd time I went to Columbus, I did find my wedding dress). Also, that dress is amazing - perfectly structured!

P.S. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen you (especially since you have that new amazing 'do).

    XOXO

    1. Yes, I tend not to show my tattoos too often on here as I had a girl copy the very tattoo once. It was my first one!

  11. I like the whistle! It looks really smart and also actually useful - it's the glamour version of the plastic whistle-necklaces people have at raves. You look effortlessly elegant!

  13. My mom had this vintage gold bottle necklace that held bubbles to entertain me when I was a child. I would give anything to find one just like it. All about the multi-purpose accessories...and that haircut! You look fantastic.

  14. I might scream at my computer because it's deleted my comment twice now.

But. I had a dress almost identical to that and loved it. Until I washed it and the fabric got really funny. Boo. The dress here frames your tattoos perfectly. It's too adorable.

Also. Columbus is amazing. Thrift store shopping is a dream, and there are great kitschy antique stores in the Short North Area. I'll try to hit up that coffee shop you went to next time I stop by. :)
