OOTD; memories are the problem

It's finally starting to feel like summer in Akron. I'm not a huge summer person so this is both a good and bad thing. I like the happiness the sunshine evokes in me, but I dislike sweating and the idea of a tan. Plus those damn birds outside my window that simply make "pew pew pew" noises all day long are driving me crazy. More than anything though, we've had that perfect breezy 75-79 degree weather. I've been taking full of advantage of boots + dresses combos before the humidity happens and I cry a lot. Speaking of dresses, this was from a swap and I love it. It's the perfect comfortable breezy dress. The detailing is stunning. It's definitely one of those fancy dresses that can be dressed down to the perfect daily dress. I will be wearing a lot of this one this summer. Plus it's pink.

With the sunshine I also crave adventures. I need an adventure, okay? Like outside of Ohio for a day or two or a hundred. Currently searching for fun weekend trip ideas that are within like six hours of Akron. If you've got a suggestion, let me know so I can beg my boyfriend to put his new car to the road trip test.

  1. DYING over this dress. It is the perfect amount of pretty! I think you got a great swap with this one. It's always hot here but thankfully it's a dry heat. Ummmm and I'm pretty sure LA is only a 6 hour drive ;)

  2. I am with ya on the weather! One of the few good things I find about summer is that it's great for day/road trips.

That dress is such a winner! I love anything blush colored. It's one of those remixable type of garments that can do punk or girly depending on your accessories. Love your laidback styling here!

  3. Love the pink and grey combo! We've had the PERFECT walking weather lately--breezy, a little cloudy, but warm. I've been loving it although I typically am a summer person!

  4. You are so pretty in pink. Still cannot get over how lovely the pink hair is mixed in with the blonde. Enjoy the weather :)

  5. I love the dress and the long necklace you paired with it. But I'm all with you about the hot weather I like the more daylight thing but not the sticky gross sweating thing. I also hate laying on the beach so a tan is not for me either. I love planning road trips. Have you used the website www.roadtrippers.com it is the BEST, I've used it for my past two road trips and it is so great at giving ideas of things to do as well as basically being able to plan your whole trip on one site. Also I believe Chicago is 6 hours from Akron and I think its a great city to visit (although I may be a bit biased living here and all) :)

  6. You sound like me haha. I love sunshine but I dislike heat; sweating is the worst. And that is such a pretty dress. Love the dusty rose color.

Also I never noticed your quote tattoos before! Cool!

  8. I love how you effortlessly mix up the feminine with the more tomboyish accessories (aka the boots). And as a fellow fair person, summer isn't my favorite, either. There's constant sweat and sunburns on the horizon. :(

  9. Love that dress/boot combo! Also, Washington DC is a perfect little getaway: 5 hours away and everything is free! We just did a post on some other midwest-ish trips we're planning this summer, check it out.! Isn't it funny, the second the weather gets nice in Ohio, we're all dying to hit the road. #irony

  10. This dress oddly reminds of the dress I'm currently wearing (you'll see it on my blog in the near future). Love the detailing and the classic dress + boot combo.

So ... road trips? If you're looking to do something outdoorsy, you should check out the whitewater rafting options in West Virginia! I haven't been but a bunch of my friends have and said it's a blast. I have also heard wonderful things about Traverse City, Michigan. Just some options!

  11. The dress really suits you. I hope you get the adventure you are looking for. It's summer time, so you should just up and go somewhere. Look at a map and see what looks interesting! Nothing beats exploring in my opinion.

    1. This is very true! But it's harder than you think if only because my boyfriend and I work very different schedules...but maybe I will take your advice.
