OOTD; new beginnings

I've always had a complicated relationship with my hair. The kind where it never grows in the right places or really, at all. It's fluffy, non-manageable, and greasy. It's a constant source of annoyance. Hence why I always wore extensions on this here blog. Which is a lot different than how I handle my day-to-day appearance. With that said, I had absolutely no intentions of getting a pixie cut. I was going for something shorter and easier to handle, but still with hair. It's the shortest my hair has ever been and while I feel totally naked, I'm gonna rock the shit out of it. That is until it grows a bit and I can shape it into the cut I anticipated.

Oh, and this dream of a dress? I saw one similar, but a little too "retro" on ModCloth. It was expensive and sold out in my size. Sammi let me know of Le Bomb Shop which is beautiful, retro inspired, high quality clothing with crazy fast shipping. I found the color of dress I wanted, but in a much more "me" shape. Basically, this is the best dress.

  1. Without sounding like a weirdo I need to say I'm obsessed with your new hair. It looks absolutely stunning on you! I think this is one of the happiest hair accidents I've ever seen :).

This dress is super cute. I agree, the Modcloth version is way too expensive. It's nice to know there's cute and practical alternatives.

  9. I love the hair! Sometimes hair mishaps happen but at least this correction looks adorable on you! I actually also never knew you wore extensions in your blog pictures! Either way your hair looks fabulous and I love the pairing it with a headband! I also love the grey tights, I never think about colored tights honestly for some reason, my go to is always black but maybe I should get more adventurous with my colors.

  11. Oh man! What a great haircut! I love it! It really suits you. I always wanted to get a pixie cut, but it doesn't work so well with curly hair. Your dress is also darling!

  12. So obsessed with your pixie cut. I don't think it works on everyone, but it DEFINITELY works on you. I'd feel so naked without my long hair (I don't even like wearing it up, honestly), but I love that you look equally awesome with long and short hair! And I'm SO glad that Le Bomb Shop worked out for you -- they sell so many of the same dresses ModCloth does but without the crazy mark-up, and I'm glad the shipping was fast for you, too! I'm glad you finally got this dress :) :)

  16. Omg, you look SO cute with a pixie! You are totally rocking the shit out of it in these pictures. And it's funny because I often think that modcloth's clothes are a little "too retro". Glad it's not just me haha. This dress looks adorable on you.

  18. OH man did you freak out at first? I definitely would've, but I also initially freaked out about accidentally cutting my hair like shoulder length haha (but not love it, long hair = totally overrated IMO, too much work). and most importantly wow, you look absolutely gorgeous w/ a pixie cut girl! seriously, it's so fitting on you. and this dress is darling too.

  19. I think your hair looks amazing! I always thought your short hair looks are amazing, and they look really good with the retro style dresses. But then you know, I'm in love with pixie cuts. :D

  20. OMG I LOVE the short hair! It makes me miss my pixie cut something FIERCE, but I'm only just down to my shoulders so can't give up now! :P

The dress is fabulous as well, of course. Love the pink and grey pairing!
