This Heart's on Fire

This weekend was one of my oldest (seriously, like birth) and dearest friend's bridal shower. As a bridesmaid there was tons of work to be done and I am exhausted! But the good news? It was super successful and we're almost to her wedding day. Next up? The Bachelorette party. As a straight edge gal, I am fully prepared to drink copious amounts of water and live tweet the heck out of everyone's embarrassment. It's gonna be a swell time.

For the shower, I wanted to wear something "classic". Something that wasn't trendy per se and that I wouldn't hate seeing in photos twenty years down the road. I settled on this dress because I love the soft pink, the silhouette and the classiness of the top.

It, however, was hot and bright when we snapped these. So, I threw on these AWESOME pizza sunglasses that my friend Allison got me for my birthday. I mean, these are basically the best glasses, ever, right? I've been dying to own something with a pizza on it because pizza is my favorite food.

Outfit Details:
Dress: ModCloth (gift)
Shoes: Thrifted
Headband: Gift
Watch: Marc Jacobs (gift from my boyfriend)
Glasses: Gift (from my girl Allison)

  2. I had no idea that was pizza on your sunglasses! This is such a classic look, I love the lace and the metallic accents. I'm really excited to see you in your bridesmaid dress, make sure you post a pic!

  3. Ha! Great glasses! And this dress is so sweet! I think it is perfect for a bridal shower! And as someone who doesn't drink, I'm sure you will have the most fun of the night watching everyone else be silly and weird. I rarely drink and when I am not drinking and others are, I find it highly entertaining.

I am so glad to have found you on Instagram too and thanks for the compliment. I just recently got into it but boy it is SO much better than Facebook.

  4. Pizza on sunglasses! That is insanely brilliant. I love these muted colours on you, it's kind of fairy-like. And can't believe you thrifted those shoes! Very pretty x

  5. Those sunglasses are great! I didn't even realize it was supposed to be pizza in the corners there, I thought it was like little cat ears (because cat ears = cat eyes, or something). That dress is lovely, and very classic, like you said. Love the headband as well, it's really adds a nice bit of sparkle.

  10. I didn't even notice the glasses had pizza- that's amazing! Good call on the classic dress, I have so many photos from monumental occasions that I wonder what I was thinking, haha :)

  11. Those glasses are amazing! Also that dress is very timeless, especially with those shoes. Also do you think its weird that you know someone getting married, maybe its because I never feel my age but if I had a friend getting married it'd be a real reality check for me. Like yes I am of that age and place in my life where stuff like that happens or maybe its just me being weird.

  12. You look so, so classy in this it hurts. And I would've never guessed those cat eye glasses had little slices of pizza on them. What a perfect touch!

Also didn't know you were straight edge. Very cool. You'll have the joy of remembering the bachelorette party the next day, haha!

  13. YES! I love that you went with classic. Not that I'm getting married anytime soon, but for my own wedding I plan to do classic, classic and more classic. There are enough photos of me at friends' weddings wearing horrible things already - and that was only 8 years ago.

Also, pizza is amazing. There should be more pizza themed wearables.

  14. What a perfect dress for a bridal shower - feminine and romantic! This dress reminds me how I seriously need more lace in my closet. You look so pretty and those sunnies add a little extra pizzazz, don't they?! :)
