February, 1878

One of the challenges of living in Ohio is making my wardrobe work for all seasons. Learning to layer while not looking bulky is a huge must. It's also not the easiest to accomplish. I've had plenty of practice and I always feel like I achieved something when I'm able to perfectly transition a piece for all seasons. This is very much a summer dress and I'm glad I tried to wear it again. I've been so lazy with my style lately -- like will only wear band t-shirts + skirts. I'm trying to really work on wearing dresses and tops and not being as lazy.

Friday night was my friend's birthday. I took her to this delicious restaurant in Lakewood. We overdosed on cherry-cola, mexican coffee and goat cheese guacamole. Afterwards we indulged in Jenis Ice Cream. It was a wonderful evening that kicked off a very busy weekend. How is it possible that the weekends go so quickly when the week drags on?!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrifted
Tights: American Apparel
Boots: ModCloth
Scarf: Found (seriously, I found it at a coffee shop & washed it)

  1. Hey Friday was my birthday too! Love the layers here--very pretty, colorful and not bulky at all!

  2. Look at all that snow! it's gorgeous. I think you look fantastic here too. Those pink tights are a lot of fun and I love how they play off the print on your dress. You don't look bulky here at all.

P.S. I'm sending your skeleton dress back asap. Is there anything you want to borrow of mine that I may be able to stuff in the bag too?

  3. Completely agree with how challenging it can be dressing in a non-bulky way when you're dealing with so many darn layers all the time! I think it's worse when you're petite, it's so much easier to look swamped :( I've recently discovered super thin long sleeve thermal tops and they're making the world of difference - like you, it means summer things can come back into rotation if I want! You look super cute here, loving your tights as always! CC x

    1. Oh! I never thought to wear thermal tops! My boyfriend wears a lot of stuff like that daily. Maybe I should too? It's been wayyyy too cold.

  6. I love your travel diary photos btw (I couldn't comment on that post, was that intentional? Sorry, cause now I really want to comment anyway because I loved that photo of the icicle and now maybe I'm doing some kind of comment faux pas. I don't know!)

I also love your winter dressing, you always look so pretty, and also comfortable. I am always stubborn as hell about posing in the cold and we don't even have snow this year! And I agree with Kristian, it's the tights that really make it.
