While it might seem like a surprise, I don't actually like to shop. Whether it be for clothes or food or makeup -- I'm just not that into it. Stores give me anxiety and options overwhelm me. I have a pretty strange body type (aka under five-feet-tall, short torso, chest bigger than the A-cup standard of small sizes) which makes online shopping very hit-or-miss for me. I like to touch fabrics, try things on, and not pay full price. These are the main reasons why I don't often shop or have new clothes. That and I'm incredibly particular. Sometimes though you end up in a store that you don't intend on being in and you find a gem that fits like a dream. That's this dress. Perfect color, perfect fit, perfect print. Thankfully for my wardrobe, I've started online swapping again. Ah! It feels good to be getting out of the winter funk/style rut.

I wore this dress to see Jeff Rosenstock and Andrew Jackson Jihad. I've seen Jeff in all his previous efforts (ASOB & BTMI!) and it was so great to see his solo band. This was the first time I've ever seen AJJ and honestly, I was kind of terrified. They have the kind of music that attracts the worst kind of fans. The kind that want to fight, be unnecessarily rowdy, and make it hard to enjoy the show. The band, however, made a little speech about how uncool it is for violence. The importance of being kind to those around you and how they would NOT stand for any of that nonsense. After that the crowd chilled out and the fun started. They were seriously so wonderful. Nothin' beats feeling safe at a show and you'd be surprised at how often that's simply not the case.
