Deliverance

This is what I wore on Easter because as a child my Mother conditioned me to believe that holiday's were for pretty dresses. Easter is obviously a pastel holiday so I was thrilled when I got this dress in the mail from a swap. I've also worn it a few other times because I like to get lots of wear out of new items just to make sure they're as good as I believed.

Abby, Rachel, and I are gearing up for our next seasonal clothing swap. We've been regularly hosting swaps during each season (except Winter because damn our Ohio roads) and it's been incredibly fun to bring so many ladies together. I'm also into any event that allows for new-to-me free clothes. If you live in Akron or surrounding areas and want to come, let me know -- I'll give you all the info.

This weekend I saw one of my favorite bands, River City Extension. They mean the world to me. They're such an incredible group of humans and it has been a true pleasure to be their friends. As well as see their personal and musical growth. Please, whatever you're doing, take a moment to listen to them.

Outfit Details:
Dress: ModCloth, swapped
Jean Vest: H&M (gift from my sister)
Shoes: Thrifted
Necklace: Land of Plenty
Good Vibes Pin: Pintrill

  1. I love clothing swaps! I wish we had more (or SOME at all) in Colorado. I love this pretty mint dress! So funny that you say that your mom conditioned you for pretty dresses on holidays. My grandmother did the same thing for me.

    1. Start one! It was weird at first, but I ended up meeting so many ladies that regularly come to the swaps now!

  2. To me, Easter = Pastels, and pretty dresses, so great job! However, I love how you "punked" up your sweet dress with that killer vest and pins. Keep it up, lady!

  3. Your Easter outfit rocks! It's such a departure from the goody-two-shoes looks everyone else has been posting about.

  5. Pastels are always such a pretty shade to wear and photograph in. This pleated skirt is adorable! Love how it's toughened up with your denim vest and pins though. Always striking that perfect balance between tough and feminine. :)
And I'll be checking out their music right after I leave this comment!

    1. Yeah, to follow up on that, I really love their sound! And now I'm pissed because I see that they visited Boise apparently and I missed them... ughhhhhh -_-

    2. Oh man, that's unfortunate, but I am glad you're into it! They'll be around again. They tour a lot. I will keep my eyes out for you too 'cause I think you'd love it!

  6. I was conditioned to dress up on holidays too! Now I spend most of them with my inlaws who are all about comfortable holidays, but I still dress up :) I really like how you made the look a little edgier with the vest! I love mint but it sometimes needs a little kick like that ;)

  7. Got to love some Easter outfits! I don't know about you, but if someone gives me a chance to get a new (or more likely new to me) pastel dress, I will be all about that life! I like how you added the vest and made it very you!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  8. Ooh! I have that dress, or at least a very similar one. You've inspired me to style it a little edgier, as I always feel a little too frilly in it.

  9. Love your shoes. I've been crushin on clogs lately but they are all so pricey and I'm unsure I can pull them off...thrifting some would be ideal.
