A year with a pixie cut

This week marks a year since I cut my hair off. That seems pretty crazy, right? I learned a lot since taking the plunge, but most of all I've learned how much I love having short hair.

I'm not much of a stylist, so the pixie suits me very well. It takes no time to style and I almost never have to wash it. It looks good with minimal effort and makes my outfits have an edge that I never had before. While much more of my face is on display (and that's so scary), having a pixie has taught me to really dig myself. I focus less on my insecurities and more on just owning it. I know not everyone has deep rooted insecurities about their hair and a pixie might not be the solution, but for me, it was necessary.

I never did anything too different with my pixie, but it grows a lot and sometimes that morphed my hair into a brand new look. Sometimes I rolled with it and others, I cut it shorter. Mostly, I let my stylist do with it what she wanted. I mostly go for the "messy" look, but I also wear a lot of headbands and beanies. I try and "mix" it up and by that I mean, I wear different headbands.

Here's a round-up of some of my favorite pixie looks from the super short to the incredibly long.
