Dancing through Sunday

A couple weeks ago I decided to grow out my hair. With that I also decided to go back to brunette. Blonde is harsh on your hair and way too much upkeep. I already majorly miss my blonde, but hey, at least I'll have healthier hair, right? Growing out a pixie is no easy or graceful task. So, here's to the next several months of looking painfully awkward.

I can't recall the last winter that had a 70 degree day, but we had it yesterday and I took full advantage. I recently thrifted this dress for $2. It's from Madonna's Material Girl line at Macy's. Which is one of my favorite department store lines. Seriously, these dresses are top notch quality, unique, and well fitting.

  1. What an amazing price for that dress, it's so cute! I love your hair, you look very cute as a brunette!

  2. I love the blue tights with the dress - so simple, but it looks so cute! I think the brunette looks fab - you've got one of those skin tones that can do both no problem.

  3. My, this looks so springy! You look great in this shade of blue.

I enjoyed the blonde, but you also look fantastic as a brunette. Good luck with the hair-growing-out. I'm in that process too...

  4. Wishing you oodles of luck with your growing journey. There will be bad hair days but it's all worth it once it gains some length.

This is such a cool dress! And it's funny I say that because I own a similar one from Target and can just never seem to style it right. You're giving me major inspo!

  8. Girl, you look great either way. You just have the cutest face so you could do whatever hairstyle/color you wanted and look bombin'. And that dress is absolutely amazing--I love bustier top dresses... and polka dots.

  9. Also I hope your blog post title is a reference to an AFI song. If not, well, it's fabulous either way. <3

  10. I like the dark! I have exactly the same thought process when I change my hair - blonde has always been a chin length or shorter proposition for me. I'm interested in seeing how you grow out your pixie, it's always a fun process.

  13. What an awesome thrift find! I totally understand needing to give your hair a break. I've been dying mine a lot recently and it really takes it's toll. Looking forward to seeing all your hair changes! I feel like you're going to rock it :)

  14. I've thought about going blonde before but I've had dark brown hair for years now and not only would I lose a LOT of the length if I wanted to go blonde but it'd be such a painful process from where my hair is at now that I know it's not worth it. Plus maintaining dark brown hair is enough trouble for me, let alone maintaining blonde, haha. I think you look great as a blonde or a brunette too though so you're safe either way. :)

  15. Every single time I see your quotation mark tattoos I die of happiness a little bit inside. I'm going to copy you but, to be original, I'll get something else. Like...parentheses. That's pretty dumb, wait just ignore me. I'm rambling now.

Either way, as always, your thrifting game SO ON POINT.

  16. Love love love this little polka dot dress and your change in hair color! You can rock any color of hair though. My main tip for growing out a pixie is to keep the back trimmed while the top and sides grow out. That way you'll avoid the growing-out-hair mullet and it makes the whole process as attractive as possible.

  17. I'm loving the brunette on you again! :D Good luck growing it all out - I've been there! Hah, it's been so long that I'm getting bored with mine again and am already planning what I'll be doing with it in the upcoming months!
