Livin' Ain't Easy

Two weeks ago I deleted Facebook, I restricted my time on Twitter, and I haven't posted on Instagram in weeks. I took a major social media step backwards simply toause not feel overwhelmed or exhausted by the state of the world. Taking outfit photos seemed so pointless. Actually, everything has felt pointless lately, but I think it's important to keep livin' and pushing back. I'm very fortunate to be mostly surrounded by like-minded individuals that are always interested in discussing current events in a way that is very needed.

This weekend, I binge watched Santa Clarita Diet and it was every bit as mediocre and fun as you'd imagine. My favorite band (The Menzingers) came out with their new record Friday. It's perfect and I might've cried a little bit while listening to it. Not because it's sad, but because it's so great.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrifted
Jacket: BB Dakota
Boots: Target
Tights: We Love Colors
Headband: Claire's

  1. Yeah these are some pretty scary times, and let me tell you from this side of the world although I exist in a pretty left wing bubble with all my friends, everyone I've spoken to is completely shocked by Trump's actions (as well as the fact that he was elected in the first place). I know our political systems are different, but I'm astounded that executive orders exist because our Prime Minister certainly doesn't have the power to make decisions like that, but I'm so glad so many people, including those in power, are standing up to him and hopefully it won't be too long before he's impeached.

  3. I deleted facebook off my phone and it was the best thing i've ever done. Seriously - not having it all shoved down your throat every second, it gives you a chance to have such much needed clarity.

  4. Oh, deleting facebook is something I've wanted to do for ages but unfortunately I need it for work. I think I would feel so much freer without it! I have a serious twitter and instagram addiction, on the other hand. I hope you're feeling better after your social media break. Your outfit is so cute - I love the monochrome! xx

    1. That is unfortunate! I love Twitter and Instagram...different kind of people on those sites (for me, at least).

  5. I am right there with you, I deleted my personal Facebook and had to take a step back from things. It was too damn much for my heart to take. Outfit photos and what not felt pointless to me too, but I felt like I had to keep on keeping on and restore some sense of normalcy - glad to not be alone!

Love this look, especially the pattern on the dress. Nice thrift find!
